In this episode of The Local Pickup, we're talking about a 1930s Slingerland Songster, a guitar with a ton of history. This archtop guitar looks fantastic and feels great to play after a bit of work we put into it. Slingerland is better known for their drums, which it turns out were only made because of a feud between Slingerland and another drum maker you've probably heard of. For around ten years, however, Slingerland produced acoustic guitars that made a huge contribution to the music landscape of the Great Depression.
