1959 Gibson ES-125T

THE GUITARCHIVE - Another Gibson from our Carolina Gibson collector friend. Stamped inside the body of this guitar is "ES-125T" along with the order number. So, we know it must have left the factory in 1959 with only one P90 pickup (in the neck position). Today, the guitar not only has the extra P90 (in the bridge position), but it has all new parts - all period correct, newer replaced parts. We don't know how the guitar lost its original parts, but we sure are glad someone restored it. Because it's beautiful, and it feels, plays, and sounds amazing.

You can demo instruments like this at The Local Pickup guitar showroom in Rock Hill, SC (Charlotte, NC).

Specs & Condition

This guitar is 42” in length, 12” across the upper bout and 16” across the lower. The body length is 20 and 3/8”. It plays great with great action. The frets are in good condition. All binding is original and intact. All electronics and hardware operates as it should. The front of the guitar has one tight crack by the control knobs - no light shines through with a strong light on it and one similar by the upper bout on treble side, again tight and no light through. Same for the back, one crack on lower bout in the middle about 1.5 inches but tight and no light through. The upper bout on back has a scratch near the guitar strap pin that looks like a crack in the pics but is a deep scratch not a crack. The guitar is sturdy and gig ready.  It intonates perfectly well, stays in tune, and plays great.

Case

A nice new Guardian CG-D44 hard shell case with plush interior comes with the guitar. Gold finish lock and latches - keys included.
