F.E. Olds & Son The Parisian Ambassador Alto Saxophone with Hard Case

The F.E. Olds & Son Parisian Ambassador is a vintage French-made alto saxophone that was imported and sold under the Olds name during the mid-20th century. These instruments were manufactured in France by Couesnon and marketed as quality student and intermediate saxophones. They feature a warm, centered tone and classic French keywork that differs slightly from modern Japanese and American designs.

This example retains its original engraved bell and “The Parisian Ambassador” branding. It includes the original hard case, mouthpiece, ligature, neck, and several accessories stored in the case compartment.

Condition:

One pad has come loose and will need to be reinstalled or replaced. Playability has not been verified, and the instrument may require additional servicing or adjustment before regular use. The lacquer shows significant wear throughout the body, particularly on the bow and bell, along with scratches, oxidation, and finish loss consistent with age and use. The engraving remains visible, and the instrument appears complete.
