1966 Guild Starfire III Hollow-body Electric Guitar with Hard Case
Good Condition.
This 1966 Guild Starfire III is in good vintage condition with noticeable cosmetic wear consistent with age and use. The finish shows significant wear on the top and back, including areas worn through to the wood, along with scratches, dings, and general signs of use throughout. The original pickguard is not included.
The guitar retains its original Guild vibrato tailpiece, Guild-branded tuners, control knobs, and original Guild humbuckers. Additional holes are present near the neck pickup from a previously installed pickguard. Additional holes and finish disturbance are also visible in the bridge area from a previously installed non-original bridge. The original-style Guild harp bridge is currently installed.
The headstock veneer shows age-related shrinkage and lifting around the bass-side tuner area. The body binding also shows minor shrinkage and separation in areas, which is common on Guild instruments of this period. Hardware shows typical vintage patina throughout.
This is a fully hollow-body, single-cutaway electric guitar finished in Cherry Red. It was built during Guild’s Hoboken, New Jersey era and features a laminated maple body, rosewood fingerboard, dual Guild humbuckers, four-knob control layout, and factory Guild vibrato tailpiece.
