1966 Guild Starfire II Hollow-body Electric Guitar with Hard Case
Good Condition.
This 1966 Guild Starfire II is in good vintage condition with noticeable cosmetic wear consistent with age and use. It shows significant finish wear on the top and back, including areas worn through to the wood, along with surface scratches and dings throughout. The original pickguard is not included. There are small extra holes near the neck pickup area from a previous mounting configuration. The guitar retains its original Guild vibrato tailpiece, control knobs, and tuners.
The binding shows minor shrinkage and separation in areas (“binding shrinkage”), which is common for Guild instruments of this era and is relatively mild compared to many examples. Hardware shows typical patina. Electronics are intact, and the guitar is equipped with its original Guild HB-1 humbuckers.
This is a fully hollow-body model with a double cutaway design and 24.75″ scale length. It was produced during Guild’s Hoboken, New Jersey period, which is regarded as one of the company’s most consistent and well-built eras. The Starfire II was introduced in the early 1960s as Guild’s response to Gibson’s ES-330, offering a laminated maple body and a warm, open acoustic character.
Includes a hard case.
