The M-Audio AudioBuddy is a compact two-channel microphone preamp and direct box designed for home recording, project studios, and portable audio applications. It provides two independent microphone preamps with phantom power for condenser microphones, along with front-panel instrument inputs for direct connection of guitars, basses, keyboards, and other line-level sources.

Each channel features an independent gain control with signal and clip indicators for level monitoring. The rear panel houses balanced XLR microphone inputs, while the front panel provides 1/4″ instrument inputs for direct connection of guitars, basses, keyboards, and other instruments.
