This is the Gretsch G3161 Streamliner Historic Series in that crazy beautiful Gretsch orange. This guitar was made as a limited run from 2000-2006. It’s a call back to the the historic era of Gretsch with the release of the 1929 hollow body that became a sensation among the gigging musicians at the time. With the cats eye holes and the Gretsch tailpiece, this guitar is sexy for sure. It’s also loaded with a pair of Gretschbucker pickups.
We got this guitar from the original owner, and this guitar would be rated “excellent” except for one spot on the front of the guitar right under the tone knob. It looks like something hit that spot and made a crack. Other than that, it doesn’t look like this guitar has been played much at all. There are also some very light scratches on the pick guard (very very light), and that’s it. Again, looks like it was mostly in its case.
The volume and tone knobs (and wiring) were upgraded to the cool G knobs to improve the performance of the guitar (and look!). The original knobs and wiring are included (they’re in the case).
It’s a beautiful guitar and has that great Gretsch sound. Plus, it just got its body and electronics cleaned, professionally set up and intonated, and new strings put on all by Guitar Jake in Rock Hill, SC.
The guitar also comes with a nice hardshell case. It’s not a Gretsch case, but it’s a nice case. Sturdy and clean.
